Aug. 1797; married 12 Apr. 1825, LURA DIMICK, born at Redfield, N.Y., 29 Jan.
1804, daughter of Richard and Nabby (Tennings).

He settled in Syracuse, N.Y., in 1841, and served as a member of the Common Council.

**IRA BRAYTON<sup>8</sup> SEYMOUR** (born 1833) served during the Civil War,
being commissioned 18 Sept. 1862, Captain of Co. E, 149th N.Y. Vols., and was
present at the Battle of Fredericksburg, Va., and at Gettysburg; was afterwards
with the Western Army in many engagements; Provost Marshal General of 2d
Division, 20th Army Corps, 20 Dec. 1863; attached to Gen. Geary's staff until
mustered out 30 June 1865; commissioned Major, 20 May 1865; Brevet Major "for
gallant and meritorious services during the recent campaign in Georgia and the
Carolinas, to date from 13 Mar. 1865"; Brevet Lieut. Colonel, by State of N.Y.,
10 Sept. 1867, "for gallant and meritorious service in the field during the
War."
