He was a merchant for forty years, of Mt. Morris, N.Y., and was one of the
founders of the Livingston County Historical Society; author of the History of
Livingston County, N.Y.

**HENRY HALE9 SEYMOUR** (1846-- ) was educated at Mt. Morris Academy and
Dartmouth College (1867-68), and was graduated (B.S.) from Cornell University,
1871, where he was winner of the Goldsmith prize. He visited Europe six times.
He settled in Buffalo, N.Y.; bar examiner, 4th Department, 1884-93; Lt.-Col.,
Judge Advocate, 4th Division, National Guard, New York, 1889; lecturer on agency
and partnership, Buffalo Law School, 1889-94; U. S. Commissioner of Jurors since
1890; Erie County Supreme Court, Deputy Commissioner of Jurors, since 1895. He
was author of "Ceramic Art in Egypt." He was a member of Buffalo Club, and
president of University Club, and owned a country place. "The Terraces," Mt.
Morris, N.Y.
