was born Bet. 1760 - 1780 in Ballinakill, Ireland, and died in Blackhall,
Ireland. He married ABIGAIL KEOGH February 28, 1803, daughter of [[WP>John Keogh|JOHN KEOGH]]. She
was born Bet. 1761 - 1785 in Mt. Jerome, Ireland.
Notes for EDWARD RYAN:\\ They had 10 children, including Edward George.
Catholic, he was the second son of the Ryan family of Ballinakill -- thus no
inheritance in the family lands.
At the time of Edward George's birth (1810), he was a prosperous country
gentleman, owner of lands purchased in part with money he and his wife had
inherited.
Deed dated July 6, 1811 between Edward Ryan, Newcastle, County Meath and
Cornelius Keogh, late of Torbury in Saxony, but then in the city of Dublin
Between the Peace of 1815 and the passage of the Corn laws, he was ruined, as he
owed money on the land. He moved from Enfield, and then rented Blackhall in
County Kildare, where he lived until shortly before his death, barely able to
support his large family. Fortunately, John Keogh had left an annuity to Abigail
Keogh Ryan for the purpose of schooling her ten children, each of whom received
an excellent education.
