Cork, Ire., 88 yr. 1851 census, Douglas Parish, York Co., N.B., p. 136: -SEYMORE (all Anglican): William 50, Farmer, proprietor, Ellen 48, Susanna 20, from Ireland in July, 1832. The remaining children were "native": Susanna 20, Lydia 18 absent, Ann 166, Sarah 13, Ellen 11, Samuel 4. The 2nd house from them was the George SEYMORE household. William & brother George SEYMORE, b.c. 1804, came from Ireland in 1832. In 1851, George, age 47, also Anglican, was also in Douglas Parish. Note: Seymour Memorial Cemetery is at Kingsley, N.B. April 23, 1868 Ireland | -on the 1851 Douglas Parish census, p. 136, William and George (above) lived 2 doors from each other. Both were farmers and proprietors. In 1861 the two families were listed next to each other. 1851: -SEYMORE, William 50, Ellen 48 and Susanna 20 arrived in July, 1832. Remaining children listed under # 42 William. Of the 3 districts in 1861, district 2 returns have been lost. -1861 Douglas, District 1, reel C-1007, NAC: -SEYMOUR, William 61, b. Ire., Farmer, Episcopalian; Helen (sic) 58, b. Ire., (children were "native") -Helen 20, Samuel 14. 1851: -SEYMORE, George 47, Margaret 47 & Ann 21 arrived in province in June, 1832. Mathematically, Ann's age doesn't add up and it appears odd that George's brother wouldn't arrive until a month later. The remaining children, b. in N.B. were: Susan 17, Fredrick (sic) 14, George 11, Richard 9, William 6, John 4. 1861: Margaret 56, b.
