CLARISSA (SEYMOUR) MARSH (1772-1865); BY RALPH EARL

Daughter of Major Moses Seymour of Litchfield, Connecticut; born there Aug. 3. 1772; died there Sept. 2. 1865; on Oct. 22. 1791, she became the wife of Rev. Truman Marsh (1768-1851), Yale Coll. 1786, who was ordained by Bishop Seabury, first Bishop of Connecticut, in 1790, and was Rector of St. John's, New Milford, 1790-1799, and of St. Michael's, Litchfield, 1799-1810.

From a portrait by Ralph Earl, in the Seymour Homestead in Litchfield. Earl's fine portrait of the Rev. Truman Marsh is in the collection of the Brooklyn Art Museum.
