MOSES SEYMOUR, JR. (1774-1826), BY RALPH EARL
Son of Major Moses Seymour; born at Litchfield, June 30, 1774, died there May 8, 1826; a prominent merchant, and one of those who first introduced carding machines into the country; Postmaster of Litchfield for twenty-five years; Sheriff of Litchfield County, six years.
The portrait, by Ralph Earl, is in possession of descendants.
