Surname First name(s) Sex Age Occupation Where Born Remarks CARNEGIE Isabella F 70 Yarn Winder Angus CARNEGIE Barbara F 30 Flax Spinner Angus FINDLAY John M 9 Angus Isabel Greig Carnegie wife of Collin mother of John Carnegie, grandmother of Catherine and great grandmother to Margaret Ritchie. Note further investigation into the woman here listed as Barbara shows that there is a Barbara born to a James Carnegie. James Carnegie is the son of Collin Carnegie and Isabel Greig. Barbara therefore would be Isabel's granddaughter. The boy John Findlay is the son of Barbara Carnegie who married a man named James Findley in 1830. There is a son John born shortly thereafter. Many Scottish women go back to their maiden names after being widowed so Barbara although she married a Findlay man must have assumed her maiden name after his death.
