Father: Charles “Carl” OHRMUNDT, (son of Charles OHRMUNDT), b. 29 Dec 1845, East Hinter Pomerania Prussia, d. 14 Mar 1917, bur. St Peters Cemetery, Lebanon Dodge County Wisconsin
Charles is in Summit township in Waukesha County Wisconsin and is a carpenter with his 18 year old wife Amelia. in 1870. From Dodge County genweb St Peters Eve Lutheran Church file comes this a definite clue as to where this family immigrated from. This man went by Carl on several land deeds so this is him. Also this is his wife listed as Amelia on a census. And on a census his birth year is given as 1846 like this church record. . .: From St Peters Lutheran Church in Dodge County church records: Quote Carl OHRMUND, son of C. Ohrmund, born Dec 29, 1846 in Hinter (East) Pommerania. Joined church on Aug 6, 1881. Left by most of his family in 1907. Wife Emilie, born a dtr. of Joh. Uttech, Jan 5, 1852. Note “ East Hinter after 1945 was given to Poland after WW II, in an effort to break up the military stronghold of Prussia. Unfortunately it was cleansed ot all Germans to do so.. Charles”Carl “ Orhmundt is indeed buried in St Peters Lutheran Churchyard in Dodge County Wisconsin. Although his gravestone Dec 29 1845 is one year off, the church roster record, the birthdate is exact., this is most certainly him as he was a member of the church and it would be odd for there to be another man one year off with exact birthdate that was not him! Also on the 1900 census with his wife Amelia in Dodge County Wisconsin where he is listed as” Charley“, he states his birth is in Dec of 1846. So this goes back and forth The only child left at home in 1900 with Amelia and Charles is Julius.
