book:index

This is an old revision of the document!

Note from Jim: The page numbers here refer to page numbers in the book and have no bearing on the pages of this wiki. Also, the generation numbers after some names are very poor quality in my book (especially “6”, “8”, and “9”), so they may be in error. Finally, I am still in the process of adding these generation numbers, so many of them are shown as “?”.

INDEX

In general, the first page reference after a name is to the account of the person, usually where he appears as the adult head of a family, and the second page reference is to his birth, with incidental references following. For those not carried forward as heads of families, the first reference is to the birth record. The Seymours are indexed individually; people of other surnames are usually not.

All names are indexed except: names for reference in lines of descent; officers of military organizations in which Seymours served (the complete muster rolls are in print elsewhere); the bibliographies (Appendices I and XI); most of the names in Appendix III (see vol. 71 of The New England Historical and Genealogical Register for the same and additional data, fully indexed); and the inscriptions in Appendix VII (the dates are in the genealogical section, passim).
