JAMES4 RYAN (EDWARD3, THOMAS2, EDWARD1) was born abt. 1808, and died August 25, 1881. He married (1) ABIGAIL POTTERTON abt. 1830 (Bet. 1825 - 1836), daughter of MARK POTTERTON and ELEANOR/ELLINOR JONES. She was born Bet. 1805 - 1815, and died Bet. 1846 - 1849 in Newtownmoyaghy, Moyglare Parish, Meath County, Ireland. He married (2) ANNE KELLY January 03, 1849 in Moyglare Civil Parish, Kilcloon Catholic Parish, County Meath, Ireland.

Dublin Architect/builder - Ireland. Wife died in 1845-49.

1850 Dublin directory has his occupation as nailor, address as 2 Flag Alley South, Dublin.

Son of his brother, Edward, became Chief Justice Edward George Ryan of Wisconsin and died before 1925. (1880)

Catholic; Abbey Potterton was Protestant
