The present volume is not a complete genealogy of the Seymour family. It contains a full account of the descendants of Richard Seymour the Colonist on all branches through the sixth generation. Beyond the sixth generation, it is limited to the branch of John2 Seymour, one of the colonist's sons.
Permission first having been granted to use the extensive Morris manuscripts, our account in the first instance was based on them. It was greatly amplified when the Talcott manuscripts became available, containing as they do family records which Miss Talcott obtained over fifty years ago. Miss Crawford's collection, at many points necessarily duplicating data obtained from the first two sources, was helpful in
