+[His widow Mehitable Merrill, and her family, moved after his death in 1782 to
+New York State and settled near Stillwater. She is buried in the "Yellow
+Meetinghouse Cemetery" there. Just when this exodus from New Hartford to
+Stillwater took place is not known to the writer, but I am led to believe the
+removal took place about 1785. Probably these Seymours were in the vanguard of
+that large group of Connecticut men and women who moved from their rocky farms
+in the Connecticut hills to the far more fertile lands in "York State," where
+the name "Seymour" is legion: so many, alas, that all who bore it cannot be
