+He removed about 1812 to Sodus, Wayne Co., N.Y. The author well remembers that
+when he was a young man his father made a brief visit to his relatives in Wayne
+County, and was impressed with the beauty and fertility of their fine farms. The
+author made a "sentimental journey" in 1936 to the burial place of his great-
+grandfather and great-grandmother, and could not help feeling that they had done
+well in participating in the westward movement as so many families did after the
