+He enlisted at Wethersfield, Nov. 1775, in Capt. Ezekiel Scotfs Co., Col. Samuel
+Wyllys' Regt, Connecticut Line, and was discharged Sept. 1776 on account of
+sickness. He was a Conductor (or Captain) of teams in the Commissary Department,
+-78, and Assistant Commissary in 1781, and purchased and distributed
+provisions to the Army when it marched from Rhode Island to Philadelphia,
+Baltimore, and Yorktown.
+His aunt, Mrs. Hephzibah Skinner, gave him a large part of her property,
+including the house she lived in on the south corner of Main and Mill Streets.
+His widow removed to Utica, N.Y., in 1821.
