Lee MCDONALD & H FERN

Father: Lee MCDONALD, (son of William Shepherd MCDONALD), b. 1910, Illinois, d. 1969, Burdine Missouri, bur. Cabool Cemetery, Texas County Missouri

This child was said to be an adopted son and he supposedly went to college according to my now deceased aunt Lavon Schwarzenholz. . He says on his tombstone that he was born in 1910. He is not on the 1910 Census with the McDonald family but could have been born after the census was taken or maybe was not placed in the home until later. He lists his place of birth as Illinois. After his mother's death, (William predeceased his mother Annie) apparently Maggie McDonald filed a lawsuit for a partition of the estate. See as listed in Houston Herald. . Entry reads. Maggie S Cooper vs Lee H McDonald and Jessie McDonald minor and partition guadian HP Massey Feb 24 1938“ He married a woman named Fern. and according to the Cooper sites they had a child that was a girl no name given and a son named Roger. However, in the Houston Herald there are several references to Fern McDonald and her sons. Another says Fern McDonald and her children. So I am unsure of whether they really had a daughter or not. Lee McDonald was apparently well thought of as many of the family named children with his first name as a middle name. He has a sad end as the Houston Herald has this to say about his death. .” A 57 year old Cabool man, Lee McDonald was found dead Sat from a self inflicted 30-30 shotgun wound to the head. It took place at the victim's home 2 miles SW of Cabool on Route AD Claytonsaid. The County Coroner James Gentry ruled his death a suicide. June 5 1969“
