Kansas City Star, The (MO) - October 5, 2005 Deceased Name: ALFRED (FRED) CIRCO Fred Circo, 82, northeast Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2005 at his home with his daughter at his side. Fred was a medic during WWII and served in the southern Philippines. After the war, Fred returned to Kansas City and was prominent in the grocery business for many years. In 1975, at the age of 52, Fred decided to retire to spend more time with his family and travel with the love of his life, wife, Dorothy. Oh, the adventures they had! Fred was an extraordinary husband, father, nanu and grande nanu. He will be lovingly remembered for his beautiful smile, wonderful sense of humor, gentle heart, unwavering devotion, loving spirit, but above all, his abiding love for his family. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Linda (Lynn) Dodson of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, James M. and Doris Dodson, Columbia, MO, Woody and Barb Dodson, Phoenix, AZ, and Larry Chesnut, who became a son over the years; grandchildren, Dorothy Michelle “Missy” LaPuma, Bobby Borcherding and Ashley Burnos, Allison Dodson, DeeDee Flanary, Brad and Ashley Dodson, Aaron and Erica Borcherding, Kelly and Darrell Forbes, Fred and Lisa Dodson, Laurie and Scott Kemp; greatgrandchildren, Kristen Lynn Danser, Sam LaPuma, Jackson Dean Burnos, Donte Dodson, Matthew and Brady Rearich, Isaiah Dodson, Amanda Dodson, Lauren, Erin Elizabeth, and little Rhiannon Sicht; sister-in-law Mary Jane Barnes; sisters, Rose and Dave Circo, Marry Ann Mirabella, brother, Richard and Louise Circo; and many nieces and nephews. At Fred's request, a private memorial service for the immediate family was held after cremation. Husbands name provided by my Aunt LaVon Schwarzenholz prior to her death. Birthdate confirmed SS card Dorothy J. Circo, 77, northeast Kansas City, MO, passed away Saturday, May 22, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Passantino Bros. Chapel. 2117 Independence Blvd.; cremation to follow services. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Dorothy was a life member of Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral, where she served as President of the Women of the Cathedral, Directress of the Altar Guild for many years and chairperson of various committees. She was a life member of the St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary. She was appointed to the Auxiliary by Dean Woodward of the Cathedral and served as corresponding secretary and on various committees. She also served as Directress of the Chapel Altar Guild and was a member of the Women's City Club. During WWII, she had the honor of being selected cover girl for North American Aviation magazine. Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Alfred Circo, of the home: daughter, Linda Dodson,Aaronand Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, nana, great-nana, sister and friend.
