Henry"Ross" ROBERTSON & Mary Magdalene WHALEN

Husband: Henry“Ross” ROBERTSON, (son of Henry Miller ROBERTSON), b. 23 Aug 1894, Colorado, d. 30 Oct 1971, Albuquerque New Mexico, bur. Santa Fe National Cemetery

Henry Ross Robertson's birthdate is confirmed a burial site website for Santa Fe Cemetery for veterans as he was a soldier in World War I. for the unit of SFC. The unit he is listed in is SFC may stand for San Francisco CA as he eventually got his Social security number in CA. Here is his draft info cardYes, he was listed in the WWI draft registration 1917-1918 cards- He is listed as- H Ross Robertson birthdate Aug. 23, 1894 race caucasian birthplace Colorado, United States of America registration place not stated, Colfax, NM

And also on a census in 1900 Colorado he is listed as being born in Aug of 1894. He is in Tellar County Colorado in the city of Victor on Fourth Street with his maternal grandfather Michael O Brien and stepgrandmother Ellen. and his parents Henry Robertson and Anna M (O'Brien) Robertson. His father and grandfather are listed as gold miners. Also in the house are his grandfathers second family with his second wife Ellen. children Margaret A 9, Gertrude E 4 and Joseph M 1 years old. On the 1900 Census he is referred to as Ross H(enry). By 1910, his father Henry and Anna have their own residence in Summit Co Colorado in the precinct of Breckenridge. By this time there is a 2 year old sister in the household Helen M. In 1910 Ross is listed as Ross H as a fifteen year old and not employed. His father Henry is still digging for gold. In 1920, this family has moved to Dawson New Mexico in Colfax County . His mother and father are still alive and Ross back from the War is a 25 year old engineer listed as single and now calling himself Henry R Robertson. His sister Helen is now 12 years old. My cousin Lisa recalls that Ross and my Aunt Mary married in either New Jersey or Pennsylvania and that my aunt met him in Kansas City area where he was lecturing. Lisa thought he had a brother, that outlived him by quite a bit. However, according to the census this does not appear to be the case. His mother states all the census that she gave birth to two children and two are living. However, as he grew up with his grandfathers second family in the house as a child for a while, perhaps little Joseph Robertson who is actually his uncle by birth may have been like a brother to him as he was close to Ross's. This brother supposedly had something to do with the Indian tribes of New Mexico. I remember my uncle Ross as a man who loved the outdoors and fishing and camping and a man who was very gentle natured. He and my aunt were very compatible and loved to travel.

This aunt of mine had no children but was pregnant at one time and had a miscarriage when she was in a car accident. Despite the fact that she was married three times she was very independent.and considered her second husband Glenn Warren Brophy to be the love of her life. She herself was one of the few women aviators of her time and learned to fly in Arizona where her second husband Glenn Warren Brophy owned and operated a flight school. She followed her husband to China in the 1930's and I recall seeing many items she bought and gifted people with that she bought in China. Warren disappeared in March of 1931 while flying from Macao China to Manilla Phillipes. After his death she at one point married her third husband Henry Ross Robertson He predeceased her..
