An interesting aside on the name Trafford Seymour. Trafford was not only the name of this child's great grandmother's(Ann Whalen) deceased brother Trafford Whalen but this name was used also by another member of the McDonald family, Maggie McDonald when she named her child. Maggie McDonald was the first cousin of Ann Whalen Seymour's mother, Ann McDonald nee Whalen , Thus in the order of birth, Ann Whalen (married name)Seymour's brother Trafford had this name first when he was born in 1914. The first Trafford died at the age of 17 of a brain tumor. His mother Ann McDonald nee Whalen was said to have gotten this from a romance novel, where she liked the main male character named Trafford. Trafford was also a publishing company that publishes many Scottish books and magazines often read by early immigrants in the US. Ann Whalen's first cousin Maggie McDonald the (daughter of William McDonald who was her father's Daniel's half brother ), named her child Trafford Whalen also spelled Waylon after the first Trafford.Maggie's son Trafford was born in 1925. This Trafford who is my nephew got his name therefore from his great uncle Trafford.
