Warren was nicknamed “Pete” at an early age when his brother was born and a family member referred to the brothers and Pete and repeat. He was named for an uncle by marriage he did not meet, Glenn Warren Brophy who was the second husband of his aunt Mary. Warren worked for the railroad most of his life. He died on July 11, 2006 of a massive stroke and his obit is included below. Piersee, Warren Ray Warren Ray Piersee, 74, Shawnee, KS passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Memorial mass will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 15 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church; inurnment in the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 6-8 PM, Friday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Memorial contributions may be made to either American Heart Assoc., American Diabetes Assoc. or the American Cancer Society. Warren's greatest joy was being with his family and loved ones. He served with the Army Corp. of Engineers in the Korean War. He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 41 years as a brakeman. Currently, Warren was a volunteer at St. Luke's South Hospital. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Diana, his parents, Alma (Whalen) and Noah Piersee and his beloved brother, Monte Piersee. Survivors include his daughter, Cheri Piersee and son, Steven Piersee both of Shawnee, KS; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Piersee and Marlene Wasmer and her husband, Robert and many nieces, nephews and cousin all of whom will miss him dearly.
