42. EBENEZER5 SEYMOUR (Thomas4, Matthew3, Thomas2, Richard1), born 16 May 1729, died at Poundridge, N.Y., 18 Jan. 1821; married RUTH SCRIBNER, born in 1730, died in 1820.

Will of Ebenezer Seymour of Poundridge, N.Y., County of West Chester, dated 29 Apr. 1815, proved 17 Oct. 1821. To wife Ruth, improvement of the whole estate during life. To two daughters, Sarah and Ruth. To the sons of daughter Hannah, dec'd, the principal of the obligation due from Seymour Bouton to my heirs at my decease. To son Jesse, one-half of all estate both real and personal, to include farming tools, wearing apparel, saddle, and Bible. To daughters Sarah and Ruth (to be equally divided between them) the other half of estate, to include household furniture, their mother's wearing apparel, gold beads, and saddle. Son Jesse and son-in-law Enoch Hoyt to be executors.

i. JESSE6, bapt. 30 June 1754; d. at Brewster, N.Y., in 1829; m. abt. 1773, MERCY FANCHER, b. abt, 1752, d. Apr. 1839. He was an Ensign in the Revolutionary War. Fifteen children.
ii. SARAH, b. 13 Oct., bapt. 18 Nov. 1756; d. 16 May 1835; m. at Salem, N.Y., 22 Apr. 1777, PETER NEWMAN, who d. 23 Feb. 1812, aged 63, at Salem, N.Y. Will of Peter Newman of Salem, N.Y., dated 27 Sept. 1806, proved 22 Mar. 1813, named sons Ebenezer, Stephen, Peter, and Harvey, and daughters Sarah, alias Sally, and Mary.
iii. HANNAH, bapt, 21 May 1758; m. at Salem, N.Y., 6 Dec. 1781, JOSEPH5 BOUTON, b. at South Salem, N.Y., Mar. 1755, s. of Ebenezer4 (Jakin3, Joseph2, John1) and Abigail. He married second in New York City, widow Lockwood.
iv. RUTH, bapt, 24 Aug. 1760; m. at South Salem, N.Y., 11 Apr. 1782, ENOCH HOYT, who d. abt, 1844, at New York City. Will of Enoch Hoyt of New York, dated 15 June 1841, proved 18 June 1844, named wife Ruth and the children.
