Morris, N.Y., 7 May 1870; married at Rockford, Ill., 8 Jan. 1857, ELMIRA ADALINE BURPEE, born at Cornwall, Canada East, 1 May 1828, died at St. Paul, Minn., 25 Apr. 1903, daughter of Elijah and Myra (Bailey).

He was graduated from Oberlin College, N.Y., 1843; admitted to the Bar, 1847; member of State Legislature from Livingston County, N.Y., 1855.
