228. Norman Seymour

228. NORMAN7 SEYMOUR (Norman6, Timothy5, Timothy4, John3, John2, Richard1), born at West Hartford, Conn., 20 Sept. 1782, died at Mt. Morris, N.Y., 12 Dec. 1859; married first, at Herkimer, N.Y., 4 Sept. 1805, MARY HOPKINS, born at Boston, Mass., 13 Feb. 1780, died at Herkimer, 23 Aug. 1808; married second, at Herkimer, 31 Dec. 1815, LYDIA KELSEY, born at Killingworth, Conn., 24 Apr. 1782, died at Mt. Morris, N.Y., 29 June 1857, daughter of Asa and Submit (Wright).

He settled in Herkimer, N.Y., in 1804, and there followed his trade of hatter until 1821, when he removed to Rome, N.Y. In 1842 he settled in Mt. Morris, N.Y., and engaged in mercantile pursuits with his eldest son.

i. MARY HOPKINS8, b. 31 July 1808; d. at Mt. Morris, 25 Feb. 1845; m. 10 Oct. 1832, GEORGE7 HASTINGS, b. at Clinton, N.Y., 13 Mar. 1807, d. at Mt. Morris, N.Y., 29 Aug. 1866, s. of Dr. Seth6 (Seth“, HopestiW, Thomas”, Thomas', Thomas') and Huldah (Clark).
Children by second wife, born at Herkimer except youngest, at Rome:
ii. CATHERINE MILLS, b. 12 Dec. 1817; living (1892) unm.
iii. NORMAN (twin), b. 19 Dec. 1819.
iv. LYDIA KELSEY (twin), b. 19 Dec. 1819; d. 4 Jan. 1867; m. at Mt. Morris, 4 Apr. 1848, WHEELER HINMAN, b. at Livonia, N.Y., 14 Feb. 1814, s. of Theodore and Elsie (Briggs).
v. MCNEIL, b. 5 Jan. 1822.
