GEORGE WASHINGTON8 SEYMOUR (1833-1919) taught school, then conducted a dry-goods business in Hartford, firm of Deming & Seymour. He enlisted 29 Aug. 1862 in Co. D, 22d Regt, Conn. Vols., serving as Sergeant, until his discharge for disability. He settled in Monson in 1882. He was Town Constable for fifteen years. He was a member of Wyllys Lodge (Masonic, of West Hartford), and of Marcus Keep Post, G.A.R., of which he was Commander for two years. He was a Universalist in religion. He and his wife celebrated their Golden Wedding in 1906.
