Freeman is buried next to his brother Elias Piersee but gravestone says B unknown death unknown. Freeman appears on one census as an adult. In 1900 he is in the household of the Clackaman family although this writing is barely legible. Freeman's name is clear as Freeman Piercy, age 59. He says he was born in October of 1841 in Indiana and that his parents are both born in Virginia. So by this time both he and his brother realize that father James is not born in Missouri. It also may have been reported wrong if the wife or children answered the door and reported James Piersee's birthplace in error as Missouri
