Father: Leslie Ephraim Sr. GARLINGTON, (son of Eugene A GARLINGTON), b. 12 May 1914, District of Columbia, d. 12 Aug 1994
Note that on the 1920 Census this man goes by Lester Garlington. According to his granddaughter he was in the Navy and met his wife Verna Ohrmundt there, while serving in the Washington DC area. After his divorce he remarried a woman named Ethel “Billie” Grundy. I have only added the one child from the obituary as it is hard to tell if the others are from Ethel's first marriage or her marriage to Leslie. Obviously she has been married before because one of the sons has a different last name. Ethel's obit under her notes mentions her stepson Leslie E Garlington Jr and that he predeceased her. Actually he did not predecease her, he died in 2004.
Mother: Verna Elizabeth OHRMUNDT, (daughter of Albert Carl OHRMUNDT), b. 27 May 1913, Wyandotte County Kansas, d. 1 Aug 1974
. Information found on her parents on a FamilySearch file. as well as her birthdate and place of birth. However, this familysearch file lists her born in Wyandotte County. The 1920 Census does not list her as being born in KS but South Dakota. Actually her parents were in Colorado by 1910. .So I am unsure of where she was actually born as there is conflicting information. .Verna first shows up with her parents in 1920 Census in Wyandotte County as a 7 year old. . I know by memory of talking to one of her descendants, C A Piersee Verna's mother was indeed a Matilda. .Verna was divorced from Leslie Garlington and never remarried.
