47. STEPHEN5 SEYMOUR (Jehiel4, Matthew3, Thomas2, Richard1), born probably at Norwalk, Conn., 22 June 1737, died in 1782; married at Huntington, L.I., 6 Apr. 1757, SUSANNA MOTT. According to Norwalk Deeds, Stephen Seymour was living in that town in 1762 and 1763. He took the oath of allegiance at New Marlboro, N.Y., 11 July 1775.
The family of Susanna Seymour of New Marlboro, N.Y., in 1790 consisted of 2 males over 16, 2 under, and 2 females. They lived in that part of New Marlboro that was set off as the town of Plattekill in 1799. The children as here given, all appear in deeds as heirs of the property of Stephen“ who died about 1819, which came to them “by descent or otherwise.” In the absence of dates, it is possible that some of the supposed daughters were children of a deceased daughter of Stephen”, The list of sons is, however, probably correct.
William Seymour and Daniel Seymour, brothers of Stephen Seymour late of Plattekill dec'd, appointed administrators upon his estate, 12 Jan. 1819.
