DANIEL5 SEYMOUR (Jehiel4, Matthew3, Thomas2, Richard1), born at Huntington, L.I., 19 Feb. 1745/6, died before 7 Nov. 1785, when administration was granted upon his estate; married at Greens Farms Parish, Fairfield, Conn., 15 Jan. 1775, PHEBE3 ALLEN, born at Fairfield, 5 Sept. 1755, died 10 Feb. 1817, daughter of John2 (Gideon1) and Sarah (Bennett). She married second, before 18 Mar. 1793, — Dean.
“He was drowned in Huntington Harbor, L.I., by being caught in the coil paying out to the anchor of the bark which he was running from Norwalk to Huntington.”
Administration upon the estate of Daniel Seymour, late of Norwalk deceased, granted to Ebenezer Philips, 7 Nov. 1785. Inventory of said estate taken 17 Nov. 1785 by Nathaniel Benedict and John Lockwood. Amount £ 111-3-3. Division of above estate, accepted by judge of probate 19 Mar. 1787, was made between widow Phebe, eldest son Jehiel, son Stephen, eldest daughter Phebe Seymour, Jr., second daughter Catherine Seymour, third daughter Esther Seymour, and fourth daughter Mary Seymour.
