231. ISAAC PACKARD7 SEYMOUR (Truman6, Timothy5, Timothy4, John3, John2, Richard1), born at Albany, N.Y., 25 Feb. 1795, died at Dundee, | | | | N. | Y., 28 Oct. 1871; married at Eddytown, Yates Co., N.Y., 27 Sept. 1821, SALLY | ANN MAPES, born at Chester, Orange County, N.Y., 14 Aug. 1800, daughter of James and Elizabeth (Hallock).
He was commissioned Ensign of Ontario County Militia, 1818, and Paymaster of Steuben County Militia, 1820. He held the office of Justice of the Peace eighteen years in succession, and was, for half a century, an active member of the Presbyterian Church. He and his wife celebrated their Golden Wedding a month before his sudden death. “He was ever kind, pleasant and social, and gave his influence on the side of bettering society in all moral questions of the age, and for candor, honesty, uprighteousness, temperance and Christian deportment, formed a character which will stand out in bold relief before his family and acquaintances as worthy of remembrance while life lasts.”
