132. Lieut. Truman Seymour

132. LIEUT. TRUMAN6 SEYMOUR (Timothy5, Timothy4, John3, John2, Richard1), born at West Hartford, Conn., 4 Nov. 1760, died at Albany, N.Y., 27 July 1812; married at Albany, in 1790, ZIBIAH PACKARD, born at Milton, Mass., 19 Dec. 1768, died at Geneva, N.Y., 27 May 1856, daughter of Isaac and Eunice (Rawson).

He was at school in West Hartford when news arrived of the battle of Lexington, and was one of the scholars who armed themselves and, led by Moses Goodman, served at Bunker Hill, where he was wounded in the knee. He was in several subsequent engagements, was present at Burgoyne's surrender, and at the close of the war was a Lieutenant. He was a man of great energy of character and physical strength. He settled in Albany, N.Y., in 1785, as a brick-maker.

Rev. William Hogarth (b. 1814, Union College 1838, Auburn Theological Seminary 1841) was pastor of the Jefferson Avenue Church, Detroit, Mich. A daughter, Ann Hogarth (b. 1818), was wife of Rev. Abraham Teter Young (b. 1806, Union College 1839, Princeton Seminary 1842).
