81. RICHARD5 SEYMOUR (Richard4, (John3, John2, Richard1), of Hartford, Conn., born 1762-3, died at Hartford, by a sudden fall, 29 Aug. 1822 aged 59; married at Hartford, in 1784, RACHEL LAMB, born about 1765, died at Hartford, 16 Mar. 1824 aged 59, daughter of Thomas of Glastonbury.

Administration upon the estate of Richard Seymour late of Hartford deceased granted to James Wells and Richard Seymour, 14 Sept. 1822. Inventory taken 17 Sept. 1822, amount $9987.44. Distribution of above estate made 25 June 1823 between the widow and the following children, viz.–Richard, Henry, Lewis and George Seymour, Clarissa Bulkley, Sally Pomeroy, Mary Colegrove, Eliza Seymour, Harriet Seymour and Rachel Seymour.

Administration upon the estate of Rachel Seymour late of Hartford deceased granted to Richard Seymour, 13 Apr. 1824. Division of that part of the estate of Richard Seymour that was set off to his widow Rachel late deceased was made 13 May 1824, between Clarissa Buckland (called Buckley elsewhere), Richard Seymour, Sally Pomeroy, Mary Colegrove, Eliza Russell, Lewis Seymour, George Seymour, Henry Seymour, Rachel Seymour and Harriet Seymour.

LEWIS, b. 23 Feb. 1801; d. at Hallidaysburg, Pa., 28 Apr. 1836, unm, Will of Lewis Seymour, which was signed in Huntington County, Pa., 28 Apr. 1836, named the following persons, but no relationship is expressed, viz.-Richard Seymour, Henry Seymour, George Seymour, Mary Colegrove, Lewis S. Russell, Eliza Russell, Clarissa Buckland, Rachel Newberry, Lewis Seymour Gilbert, Seth Lewis Gilbert, William D. Eaton, Mary Jane Eaton, Mary Steel, and the son of William D. Eaton.

xiv. HARRIET, b. 7 Apr. 1810; d. 15 Oct. 1835; m. 12 Nov. 1828, WILLIAM EATON, who d. 10 May 1851 ae. 46.

HARRIET6 (SEYMOUR) EATON (1810-1835) was mother of Mary Jane7 Eaton, who married William Cutler; their daughter was Harriet Seymour8 Cutler, wife of Frank G. Smith of Hartford.

The latter's son, CHARLES McLEAN9 SMITH (born 6 July 1886, died 4 Oct. 1918), B.A. (Yale, 1908), served with the A.E.F. in the World War, and died in hospital from a wound received in action in the Argonne.
